ABOUT SCHOOL
Public School №12 is one of the oldest public and prestigious schools in Karshi City and has a strong curriculum specialized in the English language. Our school was built in 1929 and is located in Jar Ariq 8, Karshi City, 180100, Uzbekistan. The primary languages of learning in our school are Uzbek and Russian. Currently, there are 1479 students (698 female and 781 male students), including primary, middle, and secondary school students in our school. The total number of teachers is 94. The total number of graduates from 2022-23 was 110.

High Quality Education
Since 2017, the education system in Uzbekistan has an 11-year program. Eleven years of primary and secondary education are obligatory, starting at age seven. The rate of attendance in those grades is high. Based on the Concept of the development of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, the basic curriculum for the 2023-2024 academic year is focused on the following provisions:
Preparation for participation in the International Student Assessment Program PISA (Program for International Student Assessment)
Introduction of "STEAM Education" (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) — Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science, Mathematics, fine arts, music.

Education Timing
When organizing the educational process, the following terms are applied:
the duration of the school year is 34 weeks (for the 1st grade - 33 weeks);
the duration of the school week in grades 1-4 is 5 days, in grades 5-11 - 6 days;
the duration of the training session is 45 minutes; the change between classes is 5-10 minutes, in the middle of the school day the duration of the change is 15-30 minutes.

Holidays
Duration of holidays during the academic year: autumn — 6 calendar days from November 4; winter — 14 calendar days from December 28; spring — 7 calendar days from March 21;
summer — from the last day of the stage control tests (for classes where tests are not conducted — from the next day after the end of the school year) until September 1.
If the last day of the holidays coincides with a holiday or non-working day, training sessions begin on the next working day. For 1st-grade students, an additional 1 week of vacation is allocated during February.
